What Is A Test Run?

Our clients often ask us about if Greco Apparel make production test runs so we wanted to record a short video to explain why we believe test runs are important for successful apparel manufacturing.

After a pattern and grading are complete, there should be a sample run, to make garment or two garments in each size. The simple reason is that it is a trust but verify business.

A piece of the garment may be shrinking that is not known about prior to manufacturing. A couple hundred pieces are required to replicate manufacturing situation. This could seem like a lot of units to test, but better to make couple hundred than thousands of units.

If there is a change in pattern or fabric, should do another test run to prevent future issues with proper planning to reduce future risks.

Call us at 215-628-2557 if you have questions about creating a test run for apparel contracting.

Can You Provide a Price Quote Without Seeing Sample?

Our clients often ask us about if Greco Apparel will provide price quotes before sending us a sample garment so we wanted to record a short video to explain why seeing the actual garment is critical.

The short answer is “no.” Greco Apparel does not choose to do business with clients who will not send us a sample. Would you call your doctor and asks what’s wrong without visiting the doctor in person?

It is not fair to vendor or client without looking at product, physically examining all aspects, understanding the construction. If someone is serious, they will make investment and share knowledge, so we can understand what it will take to work together.

What Does an Apparel Company Business Plan Include?

Our clients often ask us about writing a business plan for a successful apparel company so we wanted to record a short video to explain what is typically included in a business plan for start up apparel companies.

Here are some items to include in a written business plan, no matter if it is just for internal operations or going to raise capital from outside sources:

1) How much financing going to need?

2) How much will you be investing in marketing? What is your marketing plan?

3) What will your staffing levels look like? Will these people be employees, or vendors?

In a sense, a business plan is like a battle plan, so you don’t need to take more risks than should when proper planning goes a long way.
